James Broderick used his COVID stimulus money to start his own pool cleaning business. He’d previously cared for pools as the general manager for a swim school, but the summer of 2020 gave him and his wife a crash course on running a service company. By the end of the season, they were caring for 20 pools — and four years later, business has boomed thanks to happy client referrals. He’s focused on water care and partners with other businesses for repairs and replacements. “Green-to-cleans are my specialty,” Broderick says. “I have a great reputation in my community and enjoy giving back to local youth sports and other community service projects.”
