Bonnie is something of a diamond in the rough. The construction industry always has been a largely male-dominated field. Though it’s made gains over the years, still approximately only 14% of the industry is female. Even less represented in the industry are Asian-Americans, making up only 1.6% of employees. Add to this that according to a 2020 study, only 5.6% of executives identified as Asian or Indian. So, what does that make Bonnie? A true trailblazer! President for two years, Bonnie has been with the company for six years, rising through the company and establishing her love of and commitment to Anthony & Sylvan along the way. Starting with the company in 2018 as General Counsel, Bonnie was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2020 and added Chief Strategy Officer to her resume in 2021. Bonnie has helped frame the Company’s growth and expansion strategy and five-year plan. Bonnie handles being the CEO of a nearly 80-year-old company with respect, grace and passion. Her primary goal, as a people leader, is to ensure that everyone – no matter their background – feels welcome and included. She genuinely cares about the welfare of Anthony & Sylvan employees, and their ability to grow their careers within the Company. Her easy-to-approach demeanor and open-door policy allows young (and mature) professionals to feel comfortable asking questions and consulting her for career advice.
